Google is gearing up for the launch of its next Pixel series smartphone, the Google Pixel 9. Speculation suggests that Google may introduce the “Adaptive Touch” feature in this upcoming Pixel series.

As per Android Authority, Google is developing an ‘Adaptive Touch’ feature for the upcoming Pixel smartphone. This feature will enable users to automatically adjust the screen sensitivity based on various parameters, primarily capability.

To access the ‘Adaptive Touch’ feature on the Pixel phone, users can navigate to the phone’s ‘Settings,’ tap on ‘Display,’ and then select ‘Touch sensitivity.’

As of now, the environmental factors that trigger the automatic adjustment of adaptive touch have not been specified. However, there is speculation that Google may introduce a feature similar to OnePlus 12’s Aqua Touch. For those unfamiliar, the Aqua Touch feature on the OnePlus 12 adjusts touch sensitivity when the phone detects moisture.

In addition to the details mentioned above, it remains unconfirmed whether the ‘Adaptive Touch’ feature will be exclusive to the Pixel 9 or if it will extend to other Pixel smartphones. Google’s quarterly Pixel Feature Drop upgrades introduce new features to older Pixel phones, but they also intentionally remove certain features that older Pixels are technically capable of supporting.
