Google is integrating Bard and Duet AI into Gemini, which will include a paid premium tier providing access to the company’s largest and most advanced language models

On Thursday, Google revealed renaming its Bard chatbot to Gemini and introducing a dedicated mobile app on Android and iOS. The company is also unveiling Gemini Ultra 1.0, the largest and most advanced version of Google’s large language models.

Gemini is now accessible in over 150 countries and territories in English. Gemini Advanced is included in the Google One AI Premium Plan for $19.99 per month, featuring a free two-month trial starting today.

The search engine company states that the chatbot is accessible in 40 languages. The edition featuring Ultra will be known as Gemini Advanced, engineered to possess enhanced abilities in reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration. The company asserts that it can serve as a personalized tutor tailored to your learning preferences.

The company stated in a press release that Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0 is the “top choice among leading alternatives in blind evaluations conducted with third-party evaluators.” It is engineered to enable users to engage in longer, more detailed conversations and to comprehend contexts from previous interactions.

Using Gemini on your phone should enable you to type, speak, or upload an image for AI assistance while on the move. For instance, you could snap a picture of a flat tire and request guidance, or create a personalized image for dinner party invitations.

By downloading the Gemini app on Android or opting in on Google Assistant, you can access it through the app or any other usual method for activating the assistant, such as pressing the power button or swiping in a corner on certain phones. A new overlay will be introduced to facilitate easier access to the Google chatbot, which can offer contextual assistance directly on the screen.

Over the years, we’ve made significant investments in AI as the most effective means to enhance Search and all our products. We’re thrilled about the advancements, such as our Search Generative Experience (SGE), available for testing in Search Labs. AI is also now a key component of two businesses that have experienced rapid growth in recent years: our Cloud and Workspace services, and our popular subscription service, Google One, which is on the verge of reaching 100 million subscribers,” Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, wrote in a company blog post.

Pichai also mentioned that over one million Workspace users are currently utilizing features like Help Me. Duet AI will also be rebranded as Gemini for cloud customers in the upcoming weeks.
