Presently concentrating on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft is expanding AI capabilities to the Photos app in Windows 11. The tech giant is introducing AI enhancements for blurring, removing, and replacing backgrounds in images, with the option to save in .png format, according to reports from WindowsLatest.
The latest build of the Windows Insider Program Canary channel is introducing the new AI magic feature in the Photos app.
This isn’t the first time Microsoft has integrated AI into photo-related functions. The recent inclusion of the background removal feature in the Paint app shares similarities with its implementation in the Photos app. The AI identifies the object, body, and face of a human or animal, then removes the background, leaving only the foreground in the image.
The newly introduced AI-powered features seamlessly integrate into the Edit menu of the Photos app. When users click or tap, they are directed to the photo editing screen, where they can utilize the Blur, Remove, and Replace options.
Furthermore, users can adjust the blur intensity and brush size for customization.
It’s worth mentioning that the most recent features in the Photos app are currently undergoing beta testing via the Windows Insider Program Canary channel. These features are incorporated into version 2023.11110.8002.0 of the Microsoft Photos app and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
