The iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to launch by early 2025, featuring a notably higher screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor
Apple is abandoning Touch ID on iPhones with the introduction of the iPhone SE 4. Dummy images of the iPhone SE 4, shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, indicate that the upcoming model will feature Face ID and a notch, similar to the iPhone 14. It is expected to be released by early 2025.
This development makes the iPhone SE 3 the last Apple smartphone to incorporate Touch ID. Unlike the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone SE 4 will retain a smaller notch, first introduced with the iPhone 13 series, and will boast a significantly higher screen-to-body ratio compared to its predecessor.
Based on the dummy 3D models, the iPhone SE 4 will feature button placement similar to the iPhone 15, with a side button on the right and volume buttons and a mute switch on the left side. The iPhone SE 4 will also be equipped with a USB-C port and is expected to support fast charging up to 20W. Furthermore, it will include wireless charging support with MagSafe.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to provide a substantial improvement over the iPhone SE 3 in terms of design, features, and performance. This model is expected to feature a Full High Definition (FHD) resolution OLED screen, an upgrade over its predecessor. Additionally, the smartphone is likely to offer a single 48MP primary camera, similar to the iPhone 15, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
The iPhone SE 4 is speculated to boast the A16 Bionic processor, the same chip found in the iPhone 15, potentially coupled with 6 GB of RAM. Apple is also anticipated to double the storage capacity of the base model to 128 GB. The device will support 5G connectivity and is likely to include features such as an IP67/68 rating for water and dust resistance. Additionally, the iPhone SE 4 will support eSIM (embedded SIM) and WiFi 6 connectivity.
